The Data Manager allows users to edit and manage the WebPortal's data directly.  This is particularly useful for viewing and editing Translations/Phases specific to the user's organisation.

Permissions / Access

Note that users are required to be logged in and have "Admin" and "Data Manager" permissions in order to access these areas of the WebPortal.

Identifying Field Names (Resource Name)

First log into the WebPortal and navigate to the area/page that you would like to modify field names for.

Next click the "Layout" button, in the top Right-hand corner.

The page will reload and display the Field Names (as shown below)

Editing Resources

Open the "Data Manager" and click on the link "Translations", or an appropriate "Resources" link (eg. Dutch Resources) where applicable.

This will then display a list of all current custom translations and phases for the WebPortal.

These can be filtered by "culture" (eg. fr, en, nl, us, for French, English, Dutch, and American respectively), FieldName or the phase itself.

Next Click "Create New" to enter your first Resource.

Next, you will need to enter the culture prefix (de,fr,nl,en,us), the name of the Field (SH_LAY_0001) and the Phase you would like to use (eg. Huis).  Lastly click "Save" and then "Create" when prompted.

Note, that the WebPortal (where possible) will cache Phases for performance; and as a result your changes will not be shown immediately.

To force the loading of your new Phrases, click "Reset Resources" from the Administration Settings page.

Once complete, the user would be presented with the phase "HUIS" (instead of "home") when the language dutch language was selected.

Recommendations

The use of using multiple WebPortal windows can be beneficial whilst editing Translations.

Typically one window opened showing the "Layout" field names, and the second operating/entering Phrase Translations.
