Inventory Ranking and Re-Sequencing can be managed by either configuring CM's Re-Sequencing options, or by manually importing a stock file containing this information.
- Re-Sequencing
- Rankings are determined and controlled by CM
- Re-sequencing by Sales - Requires Rolling MonthEnd in CM
- Applies to both CM and WebPortal/CMRemoteSales app
- Re-Sequencing from StockFile
- Rankings are controlled by an imported spreadsheet
- Applies to WebPortal/CMRemoteSales app, and optionally CM
1. Re-Sequencing
(Display Planning > Masterfile Maintenance > Price and Caption Sequence > Re-Sequence Inventory)
Re-Sequencing sorts designs according to design sales (calculated using figures from the current and previous month) automatically for you.
This “Re-Sequencing” effectively places a ranking number against each design in the stock file; where the lowest number (eg. 0) is ranked best and the highest number (eg. 10000) ranked last.
It is important to note that, for these sales calculations to function, you will need to be actively rolling Month End in CM.
Once Ranking has been configured, CM will use this ranking to assist with selecting designs for Planned orders, and Ticket servicing. The WebPortal and CMRS app also make use of this ranking information to sorting and ordering designs.
Configuration
Open “Re-Sequence Inventory”, selecting the appropriate Season.
Optionally, select filters (ProductGroup, Price, Captions) from the left-hand side, that you would like to specifically apply Rankings to.
Next, select a “Re-Sequence Option” on the right, to Rank the inventory by. (eg. by Highest Sales, by current stock, etc).
(Note, that if you using the Spreadsheet option, your spreadsheet will need the fields: "Design" and "Sequencing".)
Lastly, tick the “Update Stock File Ranking Value” checkbox.
Then click OK.
Note, that if a spreadsheet was imported, you will be prompted with a Validation screen (shown below) listing any issues
Once you are satisfied with the import, click "Continue" to apply the sequencing changes.
2. Re-Sequencing from Stock file
Alternatively, you can import Design Ranking via a spreadsheet.
This involves first creating a typical Stock Import spreadsheet (Season, Product, Price, Major, Minor, DesignCode), with an additional field: “Ranking”.
Next, populate the spreadsheet, ensuring that the "Ranking" field is populated. The "Rank" can be any positive value, where the lowest number (eg. 0) is ranked best and the highest number (eg. 10000) ranked last.
Next, import the spreadsheet using “Import Inventory From Spreadsheet”.
(Inventory Control > Master File Maintenance > Inventory Maintenance > Import Inventory From Spreadsheet)
Once imported, the WebPortal and the CMRS app will begin using the stock file’s rankings
(after the next CMWebLink upload).
Optionally, if you would also like CM to use these rankings, you will also need to edit “Re-Sequence Inventory”.
(Display Planning > Masterfile Maintenance > Price and Caption Sequence > Re-Sequence Inventory)
Open “Re-Sequence Inventory”, selecting the appropriate Season and then any filters (ProductGroup, Price, Captions) that you would like to specifically apply rankings to.
Next select the Re-Sequence Option: “Take Ranking Priority from Stock file Values”.
Lastly click OK, to apply the ranking changes.
